To celebrate leadership and the
organizations that foster it, Harvard Business
Review and the United States Naval Academy’s
Stockdale Center for Ethical Leadership have joined
together to sponsor a prestigious new award as
part of the 2007 Leadership Excellence Summit.
The Leadership Excellence Award
will honor up to six people who embody the principles
our organizations represent: ethical leadership,
developing people, and delivering consistent results.
Nominations will be considered by
a panel of judges from business, industry, and
academia, chaired by Thomas A. Stewart, Editor
and Managing Director for Harvard Business Review.
Our recipients, nominated by CEO’s
of their organization, will be pragmatic and idealistic
in equal measure and will be the people the executives
you point to with special pride.
This award is not for chief executives
but for senior business leaders—such as
the general manager of a business unit, the head
of a function, or a country manager—whose
decisions and leadership have a significant impact
on their organizations.
This award will be more than a celebration
of excellence. It will raise the level of conversation
about what leadership excellence represents through
examples of men and women who make a difference
to your organization every day.
Submissions for the 2007 Leadership
Excellence Awards have closed.
